Bringing in More Love

Love is connected to so many parts of our lives. If we don’t focus on love, we won’t be successful in the other areas. If we do feel successful in other areas, it may be tainted by the feeling that something is still missing. Everything is connected. Love is self-love, romantic love and all love in between. How we love ourselves, our bodies and our homes will directly influence the love that shows up for us in the world. While authentic love and self-love isn’t valued in our society, it’s the most important force in the Universe. When we are feeling like our relationships are un-loving, the best thing we can do is not focus on what we’re getting, but how we are loving ourselves and how we can bring more love into the world.

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” ~Rumi

Intention goes where energy flows. If you imagine you’re entering into a loving space, people will be loving towards you. If you anticipate the opposite, the opposite happens. Have you heard of this experiment? You can try it next time you’re heading to a public space. Imagine before you go how loving everyone is going to be towards you. Send love there ahead of time. See what your experience is afterwards. You can try the opposite, but you probably won’t need or want to after that. If you infuse your space and your food and everything you do with love, things will just get better. If you expect that love is everywhere you are, your life will get better.

Things I do to show myself love: Take salt baths. Buy myself flowers. Put my Heart Chakra oil on and tell myself “I AM Loving and I AM Loved.” Take time to do the type of exercise and movement that I love. Connect with good people. Add organic rose petals to my Turmeric lattes and drink rose tea and Kombucha. Eat real chocolate or add cacao to my smoothies. Hug myself while I fall asleep. Nap when I need it. Look in the mirror and tell myself I’m beautiful, powerful and strong. Craft and enjoy my A New Day and Loved + Free bath soaks. I intentionally create my food. I may not always eat it intentionally, but I do show gratitude for my food and am conscious about what I am feeding my body, mind and soul. I smudge my space and infuse it with love. I say no to people and things that don’t light me up. I say NO to anything that isn’t a Hell Yes! (…when possible. Society and a child makes that hard sometimes).

Your Love Gua

When using the Bagua Map, the love section is the back right area of your home (if you are walking into your space). The colors to incorporate are red and pink but any colors you love are great to use. When we talk about the colors to use, it doesn’t mean we have to be saturating those areas with the color, we can use it as an accent, for instance a rose quartz or a pink candle. Which brings me to the point that things should be in pairs in this area (if we are talking about a traditional unity/coupling). So you would want to have 2 pieces of rose quartz hearts or 2 candles if possible. The next thing you can add in this area is photos of you and your love or some art that symbolizes love and unity to you. It could be a sculpture or a painting or print. Roses or flowers are nice to add in this area. Maybe a book or two about love, depending what room this is falling in. You want to make sure to keep this area clean and clutter-free and be sure to energize it and pay attention to it. It sounds obvious, but don’t keep anything here relating to old loves or items that hold negative energy for you. Incorporate natural candles or essential oils to enhance the space.

The Bedroom from a Love Perspective

The next area that has to be mentioned when talking about Love and Relationships is the bedroom. Your bedroom should be a luxurious sanctuary that you can retreat to for intimacy, relaxation and restful sleep. The colors should be soothing, to not disturb your sleep. Keep TVs, work and electronics out of the bedroom, if possible. You can have a seating area, reading nook or meditation space in the bedroom, just no exercising or anything so disruptive and high-energy. You want to avoid bold artwork here as well. Again keep artwork focused on you, the couple and positive imagery. Think about what any art is conveying subconsciously—you are sending messages to the Universe. Think of your home as a big Vision Board when you make any additions or are deciding what to remove. You definitely want a headboard, equal nightstands and lamps. Unbalanced nightstands can symbolize unbalanced relationships. It’s okay to have 1-2 plants, but more than that might be too disturbing. Invest in the best linens you can buy and be sure to replace them if they become torn and worn out. The pairs situation goes for the bedroom too, so an even number of pillows is a good idea. Lastly, avoid mirrors across from the bed or in the bedroom at all if possible. Mirrors are Yang (too high energy) and can invite in a third party.

The most important thing to remember is to love your space. Surround yourself with things you absolutely love and are inspired by. These tips should help get you on the path to more self-love and love all around. Let me know if you have any questions or if anything comes up for you.
